The magic of the ancient bronze age monument, 'Castlerigg Stone Circle', is now captured in musical form in this, the third album. Jamie has taken inspiration from the majestic stones and the surrounding landscape to create an unforgetable passage in time when rituals, festivals and beauty were one with earth and sky.
The existing 38 stones of Castlerigg are estimated to have been placed around 3200BC. It does not conform to a true circle as the NorthEast face is flattened slightly, and contained in the Eastern end of the circle is a group of stones known as the 'Cove'.
Many of the stones seem to reflect and mirror the breathtaking landscape that surrounds the Circle, and this is where much of the inspiration for the music was derived from. The circle can be found just east of the market town of Keswick, Cumbria, and is well signposted from the A66. Grid Ref is NY 291 236.
Please respect this site when you visit, as to some people, it is religious and sacred ground.
